Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly recently signed SB 430, which makes significant changes to the workers’ compensation system in the state. This new law replaces the previous legislation that had a maximum cap of $155,000 for workers’ compensation benefits in a lifetime, regardless of the severity of the injury. This cap was one of the lowest in the country, leaving many injured workers struggling to cover their medical expenses and lost wages.
